Kaohsiung, Taiwan (AFP) – Typhoon Krathon made landfall in Taiwan’s south on Thursday, the island’s weather agency said, after unleashing strong gusts and rains that left two people dead and more than 100 injured.

“Typhoon Krathon has made landfall near Kaohsiung’s Xiaogang district at around 12:40 pm today (0440 GMT),” said Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration in a post on messaging app Line.
