Havana, Cuba | AFP – Hurricane Rafael made landfall in western Cuba on Wednesday, the US-based National Hurricane Center said.

The major Category 3 hurricane “is now inland over western Cuba,” the NHC tweeted about the storm, which has knocked out power to the communist-ruled island of 10 million people.
