Berlin, Germany | AFP – German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, fighting a political crisis after his ruling coalition collapsed, has cancelled his trip to next week’s COP climate summit in Azerbaijan, officials said Thursday.

“Scholz is not going to Baku,” a German government spokesperson told AFP about the chancellor’s decision to cancel his attendance at the COP29 climate change conference starting November 11.
