The newly appointed president of UN climate talks in Brazil said Tuesday that US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement would have a huge impact on the November meeting.

“We are all still analyzing President Trump’s decisions, but there is no doubt that it will have a significant impact on the preparation of the COP and how we deal with the fact that such an important country is withdrawing from this process,” COP30 president Andre Correa do Lago told journalists.
