On 2 February 2025, Spanish authorities issued a yellow warning for precipitation ahead of snowfall that affected the Sierra Nevada region on 3 February. The fresh snow at the Sierra Nevada ski resort created ideal conditions for winter sports enthusiasts.

Authorities required vehicles to use snow chains on certain routes near the resort and restricted access for others to improve road safety in hazardous conditions.
