Acetaldehyde

Acetaldehyde is a volatile organic compound with the chemical formula CH₃CHO that occurs naturally in plants and is produced during the metabolism of alcohol in humans and other organisms. It is also formed during combustion processes and is used in the manufacture of chemicals such as acetic acid and fragrances. Acetaldehyde is reactive and can contribute to air pollution and the formation of ground-level ozone, and exposure at elevated levels is associated with adverse health effects.
