Anthropocene

The Anthropocene is a proposed geological epoch used to describe the period in which human activity has become a dominant influence on Earth’s climate, ecosystems and geological processes. It is associated with large-scale changes such as rising greenhouse gas concentrations, biodiversity loss, pollution, land transformation and altered biogeochemical cycles. Although not formally recognized as an official geological epoch, the term is widely used in environmental science and climate research.
