Biorefinery

A biorefinery is an industrial facility that converts biomass, organic residues or biological side-streams into useful products such as chemicals, fuels, materials, animal feed, fertilisers and energy. It uses biological, chemical or physical processes to recover value from renewable resources and waste streams, often as part of a circular bioeconomy.
