Coral Reef

A coral reef is a marine ecosystem formed by colonies of coral polyps that build calcium carbonate structures over time. Coral reefs occur primarily in warm, shallow tropical waters and support high biodiversity. They provide habitat, coastal protection and economic value through fisheries and tourism, and are sensitive to ocean warming, acidification and pollution.
