Faroe Islands

The Faroe Islands are a self-governing archipelago within the Kingdom of Denmark, located in the North Atlantic Ocean between Iceland, Norway and Scotland. The islands have a subpolar oceanic climate, steep coastal cliffs and a maritime economy centered on fisheries and aquaculture. The Faroe Islands are studied in relation to North Atlantic ecosystems, ocean circulation, renewable energy and climate variability.
