Geophysics

Geophysics is the branch of Earth sciences that studies the physical properties and processes of the Earth using quantitative methods. It examines phenomena such as gravity, magnetism, seismic activity, plate tectonics and the structure of the Earth’s interior, and extends to the physics of the oceans and atmosphere, interactions within near-Earth space and comparable processes on other planets.
