Landslide

A landslide is the movement of rock, soil, mud or debris down a slope under the influence of gravity. Landslides can be triggered by heavy rainfall, earthquakes, volcanic activity, erosion, deforestation and human land disturbance, often occurring in mountainous or unstable terrain. They can reshape landscapes, damage infrastructure and ecosystems, and are increasingly studied in relation to extreme weather, land use change and climate-related hazards.
