Malta

Malta is a southern European island country in the central Mediterranean Sea consisting of an archipelago of three inhabited islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino. Its environment is characterized by rocky coastlines, limited freshwater resources, marine ecosystems and a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Malta is closely associated with research on sea level rise, marine pollution, heatwaves, biodiversity, water scarcity and the environmental pressures affecting small island states in the Mediterranean region.
