Marine Environment

The marine environment refers to the oceanic and coastal systems of the Earth, including open oceans, seas, estuaries, coral reefs and continental shelves. It is characterized by saline water, currents, tides and varying depths and temperatures that shape biological and chemical processes. The marine environment supports diverse ecosystems and plays a central role in climate regulation, carbon cycling, food production and global biodiversity.
