Plant Ecology

Plant ecology is the study of how plants interact with each other, other organisms and their physical environment. It examines the distribution, abundance and functioning of plant species and communities across ecosystems ranging from forests and grasslands to wetlands and deserts. Plant ecology is closely linked to biodiversity, climate change, carbon cycling, ecosystem productivity and environmental adaptation.
