Polar Ice Caps

Polar ice caps are large masses of ice that cover regions surrounding Earth’s poles and persist throughout the year under extremely cold conditions. They influence global climate by reflecting solar radiation, regulating heat exchange and interacting with atmospheric and oceanic circulation systems.
