Swim

Swim refers to the act of moving through water by means of bodily motion or propulsion and applies to humans as well as aquatic and semi-aquatic animals. In biological contexts, swimming is a primary mode of locomotion for many species and can be studied in relation to behaviour, migration, physiology and habitat conditions. In human contexts, swimming is practiced for recreation, sport, transport and health, and may also be examined in relation to water quality and environmental factors.
