Tropical Forests

Tropical forests are forests found in warm regions near the equator, where high temperatures support dense vegetation and high biological productivity. They include humid rainforests as well as seasonal tropical forests, and store large amounts of carbon while regulating rainfall, water cycles and regional climate. Tropical forests are among the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth, but are under pressure from deforestation, fires, agricultural expansion and warming.
