Turkey

Turkey, officially the Republic of Türkiye, is a transcontinental country located mainly in Western Asia with a smaller portion in Southeast Europe. It is bordered by the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean Sea to the west and the Mediterranean Sea to the south, and shares land borders with Greece and Bulgaria to the northwest, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran to the east, and Iraq and Syria to the south. Turkey’s varied terrain includes coastal plains, mountains and plateaus, and its position at the crossroads of Europe and Asia influences its climate, ecosystems, energy transit and regional geography.
