Water management refers to the planning, use, distribution and protection of water resources across households, agriculture, industry and ecosystems. It includes systems for storage, treatment, irrigation, flood control, groundwater use and wastewater handling. Water management is closely tied to drought, scarcity, pollution, infrastructure and climate adaptation, especially where rising demand and changing rainfall put pressure on supply.
