Weather Forecasting

Weather forecasting is the prediction of atmospheric conditions over a specific period and area using observations, measurements and computer-based models of the atmosphere. It includes forecasts of temperature, precipitation, wind, storms and other weather-related phenomena based on data from satellites, radar systems, weather stations and ocean observations. Weather forecasting plays a central role in public safety, agriculture, transportation, disaster preparedness and climate-related monitoring.
