Belgrade, Serbia (AFP) – The Serbian government would not allow a potential lithium mine to destroy its “rivers” and “mountains”, Prime Minister Milos Vucevic told AFP Tuesday, but said its “economic potential” should not be ignored.

“We will never allow anyone to destroy Serbia’s rivers, fields, lakes, forests, meadows, mountains, and plains, but we will also not give up on something that could be a strong economic potential and motor for Serbia’s development in the future,” said Vucevic.
