The Republic of Korea will host the final meeting of the IDA21 replenishment process in Seoul on December 5-6, 2024. This is a critical moment for global leaders and stakeholders to unite and reaffirm their commitments to the International Development Association (IDA), the primary source of concessional financing for the world’s low-income countries. The remarkable economic transformation of the host country is an outstanding example of what is possible with the right policies and partnerships.

What is IDA?

The International Development Association (IDA) is the part of the World Bank that invests in the future of people and planet, with projects across 78 countries. Established in 1960, IDA aims to reduce poverty by providing grants and zero- to low-interest loans for programs that boost economic growth, reduce inequalities, and improve people’s living conditions.
