It can develop in nearly any tissue or organ and may be influenced by genetic factors, infections, lifestyle and environmental exposures such as pollution, radiation and hazardous chemicals. Cancer research is closely linked to medicine, public health, toxicology and studies of environmental and climate-related health risks.
