Carbon Market

A carbon market is a system in which carbon emission allowances or carbon credits are traded to regulate and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It operates by setting a limit on total emissions or by allowing entities to offset emissions through certified reduction projects, creating a financial value for carbon. Carbon markets include compliance systems established by governments and voluntary markets where companies and organizations purchase credits to meet climate targets or offset emissions.
