Flood

Floods are temporary overflows of water onto land that is usually dry, caused by heavy rainfall, river overflow, storm surges, or rapid snowmelt. Increasingly, climate change is influencing the frequency and intensity of floods by altering precipitation patterns, accelerating snowmelt, and raising sea levels, which can amplify the impact on communities, ecosystems, and infrastructure.
