Palau

Palau is an island country in the western Pacific Ocean consisting of more than 300 islands in Micronesia. Its coral reefs, lagoons, seagrass beds, and tropical marine ecosystems support some of the richest marine biodiversity in the Pacific, making Palau an important location for research on coral reef ecology, marine conservation, climate change, oceanography, and the sustainable management of marine resources. As a low-lying island nation, Palau also provides valuable insights into the impacts of sea level rise and other climate-related challenges facing small island states.
